About Us | Who Are We
There had always been a passion to have my own business, from a young boy at primary school, age 11, I had my own lawn mowing business. I became so busy I had to pay my mates to help me, and I enjoyed the cash and the idea of being my own boss.
At the age of fifteen, I was given the option to leave high school if I could get an apprenticeship, needless to say, that was the end of my school days and tradie life begun. And it was great for a while until my boss sold up and moved away. The world was full of opportunity’s so I decided to give the automotive industry a season after all cars are a lot more fun than working on schools and houses.
Leanne grew up in a family Business, Leanne has worked in admin and Leanne currently has a Certificate IV Financial Services (Book Keeping) and is a registered BAS agent. Fast forward a few decades and Leanne I decide to start a new business selling industrial tools to mines and engineering works etc., after eight months of no cash flow coupled with being just a small fish in a very big pond unable to compete against the big guys, I had to change my business plan so I started Michael Chilcott handyman, and this business grew and it was time to move into building and renovations after completing Certificate IV Building and Construction with Master Builders and gaining my Builders’ Licence and we rebranded into Michael Chilcott Building & Renovations.

Our Team
Michael Chilcott
Licenced Builder
Michael spent much of his earlier working life in various jobs. Having moved into the building industry, he completed Certificate IV Building & Construction with Master Builders Qld & gained his Builders’ Licence in 2014. Once completed MLC & Sons Pty Ltd Tas Michael Chilcott Building & Renovations was launched from small beginnings to grow into the business it is today. Away from work Michael enjoys time with family, car restoration, 4WD Driving and riding dirt bikes.
Leanne Chilcott
Director and Office Manager
Growing up in a family business led to the start of Leanne’s career in administration. With 30+ years experience she has obtained a Certificate IV Financial Services (bookkeeping) and is a registered BAS agent. Leanne oversees all facets of admin including contract management with a keen focus on business development. Away from work Leanne enjoys time with family, cooking, reading, and gardening.
Jesse Chilcott
Site Supervisor and Licenced Carpenter
Jesse has spent his working life in the family business and currently is in the role of Site Supervisor for all our projects. Jesse has a wealth of knowledge, also working on the tools as a carpenter and onsite supervisor. Away from work Jesse enjoys time with family and friends, and hunting.
Chris Taylor
Estimator
Chris spent much of his early working life as a carpenter before becoming a builder and then moving into the retail space managing large hardware and plumbing supply stores. He has a vast range of experience he brings to the table – working with Clients, Suppliers and Contractors. Away from work he enjoys time with family, cooking and watching DIY & 4×4 shows, driving in the country.

Away from work Jordan he enjoys time with family, working on projects such as cars and renovations to his home.

Away from work Levi enjoys camping and 4WD Driving.

Away from work he enjoys shooting, camping, 4WD Driving and jobs on the side.

Away from work he enjoys BBQing, spending with family, Jeff Enjoys the outdoors camping, online shopping and the finer things in life, Dragon ballz and his nickname is Goku.

Away from work she enjoys stud cattle, riding her horse and going to events with family.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with family, blacksmithing, mowing and drinks with friends.
